Prehomogeneous spaces associated with complex nilpotent orbits

Abstract: In 1977, Sato and Kimura classified the irreducible prehomogeneous spaces and computed their relative invariants, and in 1991, Gyoja gave an alternative construction of relative invariants in certain special cases. In this talk, we extend their work by computing the module structure and relative invariants of certain reducible prehomogeneous spaces which arise naturally in the theory of nilpotent orbits. This is joint work with Alfred Noël.

The presentations cover a large variety of topics and are intended for a general math audience. The seminar is organized by Prof. Alfred Noël and we usually meet Monday afternoons, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
