Course Info: This is an introductory course in Number Theory covering:

Chapters 1: The Integers, 3: Primes and Greatest Common Divisors, 4: Congruences, 6: Some special congruence, 7: Multiplicative functions 8: Cryptology

 

Exams: There will be homework assignments after each class, 2 one-hour exams and a cumulative final exam:

 

Grading Procedures: Attendance: 30%, Exam 1: 20%, Exam 2: 20%, Final exam: 30%.

Exam I: Thursday, February 25

Exam II: Thursday,  April 22

THERE WILL BE NO MAKEUP EXAMS.

STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MATERIAL COVERED IN CLASS.
