This course extends the material studied in Calculus III to more general spaces and is very important to students who intend to pursue graduate degrees in Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering.

Prerequisite: Calculus III, and Linear Algebra.

 

Material to be covered:

Chapters 5 – 11. Appendices: A.8-12, and B. We may have to omit a few sections due to time constraint. There will be weekly Homework assignments, a midterm exam on March 12, and a final exam.

 

 

Grading Procedures: Homework 50%; Midterm 20% Final exam: 30%.

 

THERE WILL BE NO MAKEUP EXAMS.

STUDENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MATERIAL COVERED IN CLASS.
