"SI" sessions are STRONGLY recommended. --------------------------------------------------------------------- They are run by Julio Salazar. Monday, 1pm-3pm, W1-0064 Wednesday, 2pm-3pm, M1-0212 Friday, 1pm-3pm, M1-0028 Here is a note from Julio: "What is an SI session? Think of it as extra time outside of class where you can practice your math. It is nothing too formal. You can stay for the entire session or you can stay for a few minutes. You can even bring food! Questions about lecture? Ask at the session! Want to go over some homework problems? Ask at the session! [ Note from Dr. Leisinger: You may ask questions about your HW, but Julio should give you hints, rather than do the problems for you!!!! ] Multiplication quizzes? Take them at the session! (Yes, they are still timed. U CAN DO IT THO I BLV IN U.) I look forward to meeting and greeting and mathing. -Julio Salazar. P.S. Some are better than others. ] --------------------------------------------------------------------- To get tutoring at the MRC, the student must be enrolled in the math course in which he or she seeks tutoring, and have a currently valid UMB student ID. Tutoring is specific to the course; it is not meant to help with generic math tutoring, GED prep, and the like. Students may reserve two individual, 30-minute tutoring sessions per week. Students must sign up using the Online Application for Tutoring Scheduling (OATS). Information, instructions, and help registering are available at the MRC tutoring center. Subject to availability, walk-in tutoring might be available. Tutoring is offered in M115, M130, M140 and many other math classes. One-hour workshops for many courses will be offered soon. TUTORS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HELP STUDENTS WITH HOMEWORK PROBLEMS at the MRC. =====================================================================
