Emerging Treatments for Arthritis: A Clinical Trial Retrospective

Abstract: Ixekizumab is effective in the treatment of radiographic axial spondyloarthritis regardless of the level of C-reactive protein or magnetic resonance imaging scores: 16-week data from COAST-V and COAST-W.

 

 

Biography:

Vladimir J. Geneus, Ph.D. is a Senior Research Scientist at AbbVie, Inc. He is the lead statistician for over a dozen concurrent studies (Phases II-IV) in the specialty therapeutic area. Prior to his position at AbbVie, Inc., Vladimir served as a Research Scientist at Eli Lilly & Company, where he led the design of clinical studies and experimental designs and oversaw ad hoc analyses and disclosures as a medical affairs statistician. Vladimir has gained statistical experience in various fields throughout his career: biopharmaceutical (Pfizer, Inc.), government (Florida Department of Education), and academia (University of Arkansas Medical School). His interests include nonparametric statistics, design of experiments, and Bayesian designs. Vladimir earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst with, a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from Northeastern University, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Statistics from Florida State University. Most importantly, Vladimir remains passionate about helping graduate students, particularly those from marginalized groups, transition into their post-graduate careers.
