UPennCircle Actions on Positively Curved Orbifolds
Abstract:
A famous theorem of Hsiang and Kleiner states that if the circle group acts isometrically on a positively curved, compact, 4-dimensional manifold, then the manifold is homeomorphic to either the 4-sphere S^4, the real projective 4-space RP^4 or the complex projective plane CP^2. In this talk we will explore a possible generalization to the orbifold case.
