Abstract:
Almost all real (and complex) numbers are transcendental. But to prove that the given number is transcendental is quite difficult. Known methods required tools from different fields of mathematics, including Schwarz's lemma from complex analysis. We discuss a version of Schwarz's lemma traditionally used in transcendental number theory and higher dimensional variants.
