Lagrangian submanifolds lifting tropical hypersurfaces

Abstract: I will describe a construction of Lagrangian submanifolds in the cotangent bundle of a real torus which lift tropical hypersurfaces in the affine space. This leads to new constructions of Lagrangian submanifolds in toric varieties and in symplectic Calabi-Yau manifolds. It is expected that these manifolds are ``mirror" to the complex varieties arising from tropical to complex correspondences.
