Rory Martin-Hagemeyer

What's the deal with REUs?

Abstract: REU stands for Research Experience for Undergraduates. They are programs that occur usually during the summer and allow students to get some real experience doing mathematical research before going to graduate school. Basically, fellow undergraduates team up and discover something new. As someone who has actually participated in one, Rory will talk about the process and the Experience, and will answer your questions. Though Rory attended a math REU, the basic information applies to other disciplinary REUs. This information is potentially important for any student interested in going to graduate school or doing research as part of their living.
