UMass BostonFrom Kepler's Echinus to Rubik's Stellated Dodecahedron
Abstract:
This talk starts with Kepler's additions to the Greeks' list of the five Platonic polyhedra and ends with some open questions about a puzzle that's harder to build than to solve. Along the way we'll look at some models in paper, wire, cloth and software. Undergraduates welcome.
